Home Build FAQs
Can you build a house from a floor plan I found online or made with AI?
Yes. Some of our clients bring inspiration from floor plan websites, social media, or even AI-generated concepts. These designs are often a great starting point.
Our team reviews the layout, evaluates structural feasibility, and adapts the plan to meet building codes, engineering requirements, and the realities of building in Marion County. The goal is to transform your inspiration into a home that is both beautiful and fully buildable.
What if I don’t have a floor plan yet?
That’s perfectly fine. Some clients come to us with detailed inspiration, while others start with nothing more than a vision for how they want their home to feel and function. We work with you to develop a custom layout tailored to your lifestyle, property, and priorities, guiding you through the design process from the very beginning.
Do you only build the models shown on your website?
No. Our models showcase the craftsmanship and design standards we offer, but they are not the only homes we build. Many of the homes we construct today are completely unique designs developed specifically for each client.
Can your models be customized?
Yes. Every Secure Built model can be customized. Layout changes, additional features, and design adjustments are common and allow homeowners to personalize the home to better fit their lifestyle.
Do you build on land that the homeowner already owns?
Yes. Many of our clients already own land in Marion County, and we regularly build homes on privately owned properties and within local communities.
What areas do you build in?
Secure Built builds homes throughout Marion County, Florida, including equestrian communities, gated neighborhoods, and rural or farm properties.
How long does it take to build a home?
The timeline varies depending on the size and complexity of the home. Custom homes require design, engineering, permitting, and construction phases, which all factor into the schedule. During your consultation, we can discuss a general timeline based on your project.
Why do online floor plans often need modifications before building?
Many plans found online are designed for general use and may not account for Florida weather, structural engineering requirements, or local building regulations. Before construction begins, we refine and adjust designs to ensure the home is properly engineered and suitable for building in Central Florida.
How much would it cost to build a home?
After reviewing the design, square footage, and desired features, we can provide realistic cost guidance based on current construction pricing. This helps homeowners understand what is feasible early in the process and allows us to refine the design to better align with your goals and budget.
